James focuses on exit strategy, the pathways to and progress towards its achievement, and issues arising en route. He served as a consultant to East Hill since its first investment in 2001. James has over 25 years experience in corporate transactions, particularly private equity, acquisitions and disposals, flotations, financings, reorganizations and joint ventures.
He trained as a solicitor with Ashurst, becoming a corporate partner there in 1988, moved to Squire Sanders and Dempsey LLP as a partner in 1999, and became a corporate development consultant at Farrer & Co in 2003. In 2005 he joined Arkios Ltd., a London-based corporate finance firm engaged in capital raising and M&A for smaller companies across Europe, as a Director, Corporate Finance Adviser, MLRO and FSA Compliance Officer.
He holds a BA in Law Tripos, with honors, from Peterhouse College at Cambridge University and completed post-graduate study at the College of Law at Guildford.
